The usual application pool for Fall Transfer Admissions is about 1,300 applicants of which 350 are accepted. For Spring Admission, the pool is about 300 of which 100 are accepted. So the acceptance rate for transfer applicants is in spring is a little higher. Forty percent of their Transfer Applicants come from community colleges – with MC and NOVA being the two largest feeder CCs.

Application Deadlines (CRITICAL INFORMATION!!!):

  3. All incoming transfer students MUST take a math placement exam – no exceptions.

Paying for AU:

  • AU offers institutional scholarships of up to 15K (nearly half of their 34K per year tuition) so being competitive (ie having lots of completed credits and a high gpa) is key to making it affordable.

  • At least 80% of AUs students do internships with a large group of those doing more than one internship before graduating. 60% of those who completed at least one internship said that their internship was directly responsible for their first job.60% of AUs students study abroad for at least a semester – they have programs on six continents in the fall, spring, and summer. When studying abroad, students are still considered AU students, pay their tuition and fees to AU and get grades from AU – this makes study abroad simpler.

Advising Information for Student that are Military Veterans & Service Members

As we get deeper and deeper in to the peak advising and registration season you may be meeting with new and returning students that share with you that they are Veterans or current service members. It appears that self-disclosure on behalf of the students is the best way the College has at the moment in identifying students that would likely benefit from Combat2College (C2C).

If you are working with a Veteran or current service member, please refer them to the C2C website. In addition, please print out a copy of the Military Veterans and Service Members Student Checklist. This helpful sheet walks the students through the necessary steps to apply and enroll in MC, but also take care of their VA benefits and connect with the C2C Program Assistant.
