A few weeks ago, I followed up with you regarding the remaining IC grades from Spring 2020. Thank you for taking on the task of contacting the faculty to ascertain whether the students were making progress in converting that IC to a letter grade. Some conversions have already happened, but many faculty reported that students had not responded to their efforts to complete the work, or that students were trying but were overwhelmed.
The easiest way to accomplish this is to simply take any IC grades from Spring 2020 that remain at the end of the semester and make the change to WC.
- Therefore, faculty members who are working with students to resolve Spring 2020 IC grades must register those final grades no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 19. If a student is working on the grade and still needs more time, the faculty member can elect to record an I as the grade, which will then extend the deadline into the early part of the Fall 2021 semester.
- Any Spring 2020 IC grades that remain on record after May 19 will be converted to WC on the last day of the semester, May 21.
- We are identifying students on F1 visas and on athletic scholarships that may be adversely affected by a WC grade and exempting them from this action.
Let me know if you have any questions.
