Fischer is the system that allows people to access MyMC and creates/activates/deactivates email accounts and access to Office 365. For former students who want to request a transcript, they need to be able to access MyMC, but we don’t want to pay for licensing for an email account or Office 365 if they are not currently attending classes. The majority of the FI comments in Banner say “community user” which means the person has been given access to MyMC so they can look at their own student records and can request a transcript, but they don’t have access to all the other functionality.
If the student wants to come back to take classes, probably
the best first step is for them to submit a reactivation form to trigger
Fischer to activate their account. If they’ve already done that and are
running into issues or the comment is something other than “community user”,
send me the M-number and I can take a look at what else might need to be
updated to get things rolling.
