Program Advising Guide - 20-21 Issue/Fix in Progress

Counselors,

We have discovered that, due to some programming issues, changes to the online catalog have caused ENGL Foundation, Math Foundation, or both NOT to show up on some of the 2020-2021 Program Advising Guides’ course sequences.

We are aware of this problem and are trying to correct it as soon as possible.  The online catalog is CORRECT but for some reason when the information is being pulled into the Program Advising Guides these course are disappearing.  At the bottom of this email, I have included a list of the Program Advising Guides impacted by this issue.  If you find this error in a guide not listed below, please email me so it can be fixed.

Students in the degree programs listed below should be referred to the online catalog which is currently the most accurate source of curriculum materials.  If a student has printed out one of these Program Advising Guides, please have them destroy their copy and obtain the corrected one when they become available.

Also, due to circumstances beyond my control, updates to the Advising Worksheets for the 2020-2021 academic year have been delayed.

The anticipated publication date is now August 15, 2020.  If you have provided new students with the 2019-2020 Advising Worksheets, please let them know that the updated Advising Worksheets for 2020-2021 should be available by the middle of next month.

As soon as the Program Advising Guides are corrected and the Advising Worksheets updated, I will send out email notifications.

I appreciate everyone’s patience and assistance as these issues are resolved.

Advising Worksheets Updated for 2017-18

Counselors and Faculty Advisors,

The Advising Worksheets for Associate degrees have been updated and posted online.  All the current worksheets are based on the new general education program.

The most current Advising Worksheets can be found at the Advising Worksheet Index:

These links are also available in the 2017-2018 online catalog in each curriculum:
“All students should review the Advising Worksheet and consult an advisor.”

The Advising Worksheet Archives have the Advising Worksheets based on the old general education program and any deleted programs:

The link to the archives is also available on the Advising Worksheet Index:

The Certificate and LOR Worksheets are still in the process of being updated.  The Advising Worksheets Archives is also a work in progress.

If you discover any errors in the content, bad links or non-functional worksheets, please email  me the details and I will fix them immediately.

Also, if you need an old advising worksheet that you cannot locate in the Archives, I will be happy to email them to you directly and post them to the Archives.

Thank you for your patience with this process and I appreciate all the emails I receive that help keep the advising worksheets and the online catalog as accurate as possible for the MC community.

Online Catalog Test Site Now Available

The online catalog test site has been developed and is now available for your perusal at catalog.montgomerycollege.edu.

This test website constitutes the first phase of the implementation process and provides an opportunity to become familiar with the online format before the catalog goes live. Please explore the site using its left-side navigation menu and the search features in the upper-left corner and submit your feedback and comments via e-mail to catalog@montgomerycollege.edu.

The finalized online catalog will be launched in the early part of the spring 2015 semester. Until that time, please continue to use the 2014–15 print catalog, also available online at www.montgomerycollege.edu/catalog, as the official academic catalog.

Please contact Dr. Clarice Somersall, associate senior vice president for academic affairs and lead coordinator of the online catalog implementation efforts, with questions or comments about the progress of the online catalog.
