The department previously known as the Department of Reading, English as a Second Language, World Languages, and Philosophy has split into two departments.

Dr. Mary Owens is the chair of the and Ms. Barbara Mumford is the administrative aide. The department office is located in 512 MT, 240-567-7407. - Department of World Languages and Philosophy
Chaired by Dr. Sharon Fechter and the department administrative aide is Ms. Mary O’Banner. The department office is located in 429 MT, 240-567-5395.
The departments of Computer Science and Computer Applications have joined together to form a new department.
- Department of Computer Science, and Information and Interactive Technologies
Chaired by Professor Linda Fontaine and the department administrative aide will be Ms. Lisa Johnson. The department office is located in 427 MT, 240-567-5185.
