Please be aware that the secondary education physical education program at the University of Maryland College Park is being discontinued as of spring 2011. Students interested in Physical Education teaching credential should plan to major in Kinesiology and apply to a Masters Certification Program (MCERT) upon graduation to earn the teaching endorsement. The program is still in ARTSYS but this information is noted in the notes section down a ways on the page regarding the discontinuation of the program.
Students can contact Dr. Ana Palla-Kane or go to the College of Education website to find more information on the MCERT program http://www.education.umd.edu/EDCI/MCERTEdu
