Johns Hopkins - Transfer Notes

Here is the link to their transfer webpage  https://apply.jhu.edu/application-process/transfer-students/

What we learned:
  • They only take about 100 transfer students per year – about 10 of those are honors program students from community colleges
  • There is no merit aid, only need based aid – so no funding available for international or DACA students
  • Fall transfer only, no spring
  • Application fee waivers are possible
  • While grades are important (cumulative GPA of 3.8 or above), they are also looking for compatibility of courses with what they ask their students to take and for other activities students may do including campus involvement, service, work and family responsibilities. Intermediate proficiency in a foreign language and willingness to engage on campus were mentioned.
  • College of Arts and Sciences, International Studies and Engineering were discussed as possible transfer majors,  there is no undergraduate business major at Hopkins
  • Students with specific questions can get answers at transfers@jhu.edu
