ADVISING ALERT Graphic Design Area of Concentration, Graphic Design AAS: 304A

Students in Graphic Design Area of Concentration, Graphic Design AAS: 304A on federal financial aid received the attached file from financial aid office.

What you need to know:

The NASAD (National Accreditation of Schools of Art & Design) required the discipline to remove “Graphic Design” as area of concentration and replace with “General” area of concentration, in order to align with their standards and national standards systems of academic currencies.

There were no changes in curriculum – program description, requirements, electives and General Education requirements remain the same.

Unfortunately, changing the title and continuing to use 304A would mean the title changes for all students that have ever been in the program.  The seven year catalog catalog does not work in this particular situation.

Therefore, Graphic Design Area of Concentration, Graphic Design AAS: 304A has been deactivated in Banner so financial aid will not pay for it.

These students need to submit a change of major form to General Graphic Design Area of Concentration, Graphic Design AAS: 304B immediately in order to receive federal financial aid.

This change does not impact their CAPP or their graduation requirements.

Sincerely,

Anthony Solano, MA, LCPC (he, him, his)
