ASDP is a one-week on-campus residency program that exposes
underrepresented minority community college students to the accounting profession.
Throughout the week, scholars participate in focused, challenging, and
interactive sessions that discuss leadership style, organizational culture,
personal branding, and successfully navigating transitions. Scholars interact
closely with faculty and students to understand the rigor of the accounting
curriculum and demystify the transfer process to a four-year institution while
emphasizing the CPA exam. Networking and mentoring opportunities are
crucial components of site visits where professionals address how their
academic work prepared them to become critical thinkers who resolve real-world
problems.
