You can always find an updated copy on the MC Transfer Page – go to “Advising by Majors” and look for "Nursing".
This 3-page document now includes a General Studies STEM Advising Worksheet with UMB Nursing Courses listed. This can be useful for students who are receiving financial aid which requires that all courses taken must fit into a degree program.
There are some specific changes for students hoping to transfer to the University of Maryland-Baltimore School of Nursing (UMB-SON), Shady Grove and Main Campus - lots of fine print on this document! Here are two important changes for direct entrance into the Traditional Nursing (BSN):
1.
Students
may only have 4 courses remaining “In Progress” at the time that they apply to
UMB
2.
WMST
101 Women’s Studies previously could be counted as either an Arts and
Humanities or as the Additional Social Science course; it now applies only to
the UMB Arts & Humanities Requirements Section (9 credits).
Students who express an interest in the BSN
Traditional (four-year) direct admit to UMB School of Nursing should
be advised to attend a Nursing Information Session at UMB early in the
Nursing Planning stages. This is especially important for students
who have transfer credits from any other schools, US or International. The MC to UMB-SON Prerequisite Course List can also be used as a guide for the MC/UMB 3+1 Pathway Agreement – please urge those students to attend an MC Nursing Advising Session www.montgomerycollege.edu/nursing as early as their first semester at MC!
