MC to UMD: Quick Transfer Facts

Admissions – MTAP

·         Guarantees admission to UMD if requirements met by priority transfer application deadline

·         All MC students may sign up

·         No downside to applying

·         Sign up at least 1 yr before transfer

·         Optional benefit of taking classes @ UMD

Admissions – Applying

·         Apply by priority deadline

o    (8/1 for following Spring & 3/1 for Fall)

·         Competitive applicant at 3.0 GPA, 30 credits completed including English Composition & College Level Math

·         If applied to UMD before, submit updated materials

Academics – LEPs (BMGT, BSCI, COMM, CCJS, ENGR, GVPT, JOUR, PSYC)

·         Gateway & GPA Reqs. needed to start 1^st semester @ UMD

·         Students may apply to LEPs after transferring

·         Business has an additional competitive review

Academics – General Education (GenEd) Reqs.

·         A.A. or MC GenEd Package = all lower-level GenEd Reqs. complete

·         No A.A. = Course by course review of transcript

Academics – Major Reqs.

·         Courses reviewed separately for how they apply to major Reqs.

·         Use UMD’s Transfer Course Database to see how courses will apply
