I am pleased to inform you that the
Psychology discipline has just launched a co-enrollment pilot beginning in fall
2017 which will allow ELAI 990 students to co-enroll in any section of PSYC
102. This 2-year student access pilot – based on 12 years of student
success data – has been endorsed by SVP for Academic Affairs Sanjay Rai, Dean
Darrin Campen (lead dean for Psychology), the Psychology chairs and faculty at
all three campuses, and CAPDI.
As with the other co-enrollment pilots
which have preceded this, students who register for ELAI 990 will be able to
co-enroll for PSYC 102 on their own, without an override (though the Banner
coding for this pilot may take a few weeks to complete, so please do issue
overrides through the month of June as necessary).
_____________
Finally, because there are a number of
ongoing AELW 940/ELAI 990 co-enrollment pilots, I have provided a summary below
to help keep things straight.
The gist: Students registered for ELAI 990
shall be permitted to co-enroll in CMAP 120, CHEM 131, ENES 100, BIOL 101, CHEM
109, and PSYC 102 (see the table below for notes on the start and end dates of
each pilot). These pilots are “Bannerized” so that no override is
required.
Extra wrinkle: Concurrent with
the launch of the newly redesigned AELP/ELAP curriculum, in the fall of 2017
the operative AELP/ELAP course in these pilots will change from AELW 940 to ELAI
990.

Notes

The ELAI 990 assessment level for CMAP
120 is now permanent. The Computer Applications discipline submitted the CCC
paperwork early this spring, and the proposal was approved at the March 31,
2017 Curriculum Committee meeting.

CHEM 131
|
This pilot, currently in its second year,
will continue through the 2017-2018 academic year in order to gather more
student data. We anticipate that in the spring of 2018, the Chemistry
discipline will be able to move forward with curriculum action to make the
changes permanent.
|
ENES 100
|
This pilot will continue through the
2017-2018 academic year in order to gather more student data. We
anticipate that in the spring of 2018, the Engineering discipline will be
able to move forward with curriculum action to make the changes permanent.
|
BIOL 101
|
This 2-year pilot will launch in the fall
2017 semester.
|
CHEM 109
|
This 2-year pilot will launch in the fall
2017 semester.
|
PSYC 102
|
This 2-year pilot will launch in the fall
2017 semester.
|
In addition to the above, the pilots for
MATH 110-181 were completed three years ago – with outstanding results in terms
of student success – and the piloted ELAI 990 assessment level was made
permanent through Curriculum action in AY 2015-2016.
As always, please let me know if you have
any questions, concerns or suggestions.
Thanks,
Mike
